Hello! I'm an 18-year-old who is fresh out of college and is still trying to navigate my way through life. I have a dream, a dream that has yet to be realised. I dream of travelling the world, which requires a certain level of financial freedom.
Here's some context: I'm from Singapore -- and I currently have exactly 8 months before the start of university, which means plenty of time to expose myself as much as possible to different areas of personal interest (very extensive), purely out of fun and curiosity, even if they're not related to my future degree.
WHY I'M STARTING A BLOG: I'm at a stage where I'm feeling pretty disillusioned by the limitations and the homogeneity of the content posted on social media. As much I appreciate using instagram and facebook to digitally connect with my peers, the content that I want to share is not quite suitable on apps where people only spend about 10 seconds looking at each post. In other words, I want a platform where I can share the more nuanced aspects of my experiences, which necessitates lengthier posts rather than one-liners; which is the perfect format for blogs.
WHAT I'LL BE BLOGGING ABOUT: - personal: reflections, growth, insights
- reviews: media which I consume (books, films, videos)
- learning progress: summarising content learnt in the realms of psychology, coding etc.
That's all from me for now. I'm excited to embark on this journey of introspection, learning and self-development. I hope that this blog will become a cherished souvenir for my future self.
