游子吟 唐 孟郊
慈母手中线，游子身上衣。
临行密密缝，意恐迟迟归。
谁言寸草心，报得三春晖。
意思：
有谁敢说，子女像小草那样微弱的孝心，能够报答得了像春晖普泽的慈母恩情呢？
Translation:
Who dares to say that the mere filial piety of a child can repay the endless sacrifices of his benevolent mother?
This sentence is a metaphor dressed as a rhetorical question.
It likens a child to a tiny plant in the vast field of green, and his mother to the vibrant sunlight of the first spring. This serves to illustrates the sheer intensity and scale of love and nurturing that a mother provides for her children.
